Pompano Beach, FL

A small piece of paradise near the ocean.

Adventures await you on the warm sandy beaches and in the clear waters of the ocean, and everyone is welcomed with a slight calm breeze.

When it comes to water sports in Pompano Beach, there is much more than swimming.  People can be seen scuba diving, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and there’s even a deep-sea fisher or two.  The fun doesn’t stop there either, as anyone who isn’t in the water can usually be found playing a lively game of volleyball or running around on the playground.

If the playground at the beach isn’t enough, there are also fifty other local parks that everyone can use to play sports or simply visit to relax.

Everyone goes to try their luck at Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park, whether its at the slot machines, poker tables, or the live harness racing.

Shopping and fun go hand in hand at the Festival Marketplace, where there are more than 300 stores for everyone to peruse for the items on their list.  No one can ever leave this shopping center empty handed!

The Greg Norman Signature Pines Golf Course was redesigned by Greg Norman himself, and every golfer will want to check it out and see if they can get under par.

There are plenty of special events in Pompano Beach, but the favorites include the seafood festival in April, the fishing rodeo in May, and the holiday boat parade in December.

A tour of the Hillsboro Lighthouse is a must, but it is necessary to take a full day to complete the journey.  You must take a boat out to where the lighthouse is, which means that you will need to arrange to take one of the tours that is scheduled throughout the year.  Once there, plan on climbing the 175 steps to the top for the magnificent views and then eating a picnic lunch once you arrive back down on land.

Divers will want to head out to Shipwreck Park, which is an artificial reef that is located a mile and a half off the shores of Pompano Beach.  The goal is to create an underwater cultural arts park and it is accessible to all divers, even beginners.

Your taste buds will get a treat if you choose to dine out in Pompano Beach.  A few recommendations include Calypso Restaurant, The Rusty Hook Tavern, Gianni’s Ristorante, and Ocean Grill Restaurant.
