LBI Travel Tips and Tricks

Whether you’re going for a day trip or a week-long getaway, you’re going to want to know these tips and tricks before crossing the bridge to the Long Beach Island.

Bring Your Reusable Bags

Many of the beach towns in Jersey and particularly on Long Beach Island LBI are banning single use grocery bags. Long Beach Township started their bag ban this May, so don’t be surprised if you go into Acme or Wawa and there isn’t a plastic bag in sight. Your best bet is to bring a few reusable bags when you make your grocery run.

Don’t Forget the Beach Badges

Pick up your beach badges at the Long Beach Township Beach Patrol Office in Beach Haven Crest Monday thru Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM or at the Beach Badge Shack on 68th Street, Brant Beach, which is open 7 days a week until Labor Day. Daily badges cost $7 and weekly badges are $20.

Flag Down an LBI Shuttle

The LBI Shuttle Service keeps expanding, which means extended hours, bigger buses, and new routes! Flag a bus down on the Boulevard and use the mobile app to look for nearby shuttles or coupons and deals. There is a small fee of $2 per ride or $5 for unlimited rides that day. The shuttle operates daily June 24 through Labor Day.
