The place to be during the summer!

Crowds fill the beaches from June through September, and that is the time to meet lots of new friends and make memories.  However, memories can still be made during the less busier times of April, May, October, and November.

Swimming is a favorite pastime in Cape Cod, and the water is normally a warm 70 degrees during the summer months.  There are numerous beaches to choose from, whether small strips of sand or massive ones that can hold all the visitors that swarm the area for the season.

Traveling through Cape Cod is as easy as hopping on a bicycle and peddling.  Anyone who doesn’t have a bike can rent one from any of the numerous rental places.  Bike trails wrap around the forests and when people get tired of those, they can ride near the shoreline.

No one is ever bored while at the Cape, as there is plenty to do.  People can be seen hiking, fishing, playing golf or tennis, boating, jet skiing, or parasailing.

Mom and pop shops are the way to go when shopping in Cape Cod and everyone will want to stick to the Main Streets for the best shops and the best deals.  And don’t worry, strollers are always welcome!

There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from in Cape Cod, but Sea Street Café, Ocean House Restaurant, and Skipper Chowder House all have the best recommendations.

Being on the coast does not mean leaving fine art behind, as there are numerous art galleries in the Cape.  Everyone can take a stroll through the Addison Art Gallery, Cove Gallery, or the Struna Galleries, to see what works of art they have on display at that moment.

Italy may have some of the finest wines in the world, but Cape Cod’s wine are just as delicious.  You can take a tour of many of the vineyards in the area before doing a wine tasting and finding your new favorite wine.  If wine is not your thing, then one of the local breweries or cider producers might be a better fit for your tastes.

Everyone needs to catch a theatrical performance at the Cape Playhouse in Dennis.  This is America’s oldest professional summer theatre and some famous television and film actors perform there.  The Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra and Cape Cod Melody Tent are two options for phenomenal music performances.

Anyone who is planning on visiting the Cape will want to check in with Doug the Quahog, because every year on the first day of summer, he predicts how many weeks of beach weather there will be.  It is a famous event that people look forward to, especially when he predicts a longer than usual season!
